Echoes of Devotion:

Sacred Music from France and Spain

Join chamber choir Canticum for an evening of profound spiritual expression, uniting two great choral traditions with works that stand as monuments to sacred composition.

Experience the sublime artistry of the Spanish Golden Age in Victoria’s Four Marian Antiphons, representing the pinnacle of the polyphony of the period. Moving forward in time, the programme also features two
20th Century French masters. Hear Duruflé’s Four Motets on Gregorian Themes, blending mediaeval chant with colourful harmony.
Poulenc’s Mass in G is characterised by a unique clarity, emotional depth and stark devotion, with echoes of all that is sacred and enduring.
